MIDFACE LIFT

Merheb Surgical Arts  IN Peoria & Pekin, IL

An Endoscopic Midface Lift is a cosmetic procedure designed to elevate and reshape the cheeks, providing natural results with a quick recovery. This is achieved through small incisions made in the hairline, allowing for rejuvenation from the eyes to the mouth. The optimal candidate for this lift is someone who has lost volume in the cheeks due to gravity but does not exhibit jowls or significant neck laxity that would require a full facelift.

How is an endoscopic midface performed?

Under general anesthesia, Dr. Merheb utilizes a state-of-the-art camera to elevate and reshape the cheeks, viewing the process on a TV monitor through small incisions in the hairline. If a patient desires enhanced cheekbones, a cheek implant can be inserted through an incision inside the mouth. This procedure is not solely for older individuals; it is also frequently performed on younger patients who may have inherited a tendency toward flattened cheeks early in life.

What can I expect after surgery?

Patients will wear a head dressing for 24 hours post-surgery. After the head dressing is removed, a tennis headband should be worn for seven days, followed by nightly use for another week. Swelling typically subsides within five to seven days, while faint bruising may linger beyond a week but can easily be concealed with makeup or eyeglasses. Most patients experience minimal discomfort after the procedure, which can be managed with medications prescribed by your surgeon.
